Street Construction Shuts Down Downtown & Believe In Brighton Is Born
Businesses in Downtown Brighton faced challenges due to the 2023 street construction, which impacted foot traffic and accessibility. The ongoing construction made it difficult for customers to reach local shops and restaurants, leading to declining sales.
The Taste of Brighton board sought to assist local businesses during the construction. They were inspired by a 1927 Brighton Argus advertisement promoting the need to “Buy, Build, Believe in Brighton,” which the Brighton Area Historical Society posted on social media. It sparked an idea. What if we do something with this? What if we recreate it?
Taste of Brighton Board Changes Names
The Taste of Brighton board changed its name to Believe in Brighton while continuing to sponsor and host the Taste of Brighton festival and Ladies Night. This rebranding reflects their commitment to supporting local businesses and fostering community spirit. Despite the name change, their dedication to organizing these popular events and promoting Downtown Brighton remains steadfast.
